Chemical Plant and Building Materials (Zakłady Przemysłu Chemicznego i Materiałów Budowlanych) in Sulęcin was established by the Resolution No. 38/58 of Provincial Labour Co-operative Association in Nowa Sól of 28 May 1958.
At the beginning the activity was mainly cleaning former military facilities and preventing against devastation. Our stuff at that time mainly consisted of a few people. The manufacturing begun on 23 September 1958 with production of building prefabricated units (f.e. pavement slabs). The design assumptions foresaw chemical production, i.e. production of rubber and plastics processing. These were
pioneer assumptions. At that time neither such a technology nor production was known in this region.
The project of development (adaptation of existing buildings and building new ones) was worked out in 1960. The full production begun at the end of 1960.
January 1964 was the beginning of the production of rubber floor carpet and mechanical rubber goods on press plates. In 1965 we started the production of antislip floor finish (wide ribs). From plastics we produced injection and pressed goods of thermohardening materials for electronic industry. In that period we employed 260 people.
During the sixties and seventies we produced
approximately 3000 ton of rubber goods annually. At the end of eighties we started the production of rubber sealing plates i.e. standard SBR and oil and petrol resistant NBR, acid resistant CR and thermo resistant EPDM. The sealing plates are strengthened by cloth interlayers and produced with thickness of 1mm to 25 mm. For the internal market we produce rubber compounds (crude) according to technical requirements ordered by buyer. The assortment of antislip rubber floor finish (small ribs) has been extended. A very important element was giving to use a new built manufacture of rubber compounds in 1990, built of our own assets.
In 2002 we started a production of abrasion-resisting plates strengthened by technical textiles.
Currently we produce about 2000 tons of rubber goods annually with employment of 82 people.
